  • Start Date: As soon as possible.
  • Location : Remote/Hybrid/Office
  • Salary : based on experience

Your role

You will be working on challenging tasks to add new physics modelling capabilities to the simulator as well as resolving the daily issues faced by our clients when simulating carbon capture and storage (CCS) problems. You will be discussing and trying new ideas in a stimulating environment, with the opportunity to shape the future of a new software product and establish new modelling practices in the industry. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in CCS modelling and software development.

The ideal candidate has a background in physics or engineering with a solid maths foundation and enthusiastic attitude to scientific programming. A PhD in a relevant field and experience in the industry is the background we are looking for, and we welcome applications from senior developers with lead experience as we anticipate adding other members as the user base continues to grow. The coding languages used at OpenGoSim are modern Fortran, C, C++, Python and Cuda.

We are very flexible about work location, and we offer you the possibility to work remotely from the UK and Europe, from home or from a private office in your chosen location. And if you prefer, you can always join one of our team members in Edinburgh, Taunton or Barcelona.
